On This Day in History…

On this day in 1873, a 32-year-old, 4-foot, 3-inch tall woman named Lottie Moon arrived in China. She would go on to spend the remaining 40 years of her life there, laboring to make Christ known to that nation. She also dedicated her life to raising financial support for foreign missions from churches back home.

Today, the Southern Baptist Convention takes up the annual “Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions,” and 100% of the money collected goes to support Southern Baptist international missionaries. To date, nearly $5 billion has been raised in Moon’s name.
